What the gold actually does
The steel underneath is the part that lives forever. It won't rust, it won't turn your skin green, and the sea does nothing to it. Swim, surf, shower, sleep in it.
The gold is a finish on top of that steel. Water doesn't wear it. Friction does: rings against a surfboard rail, a chain under a wetsuit zip. Worn kindly it keeps its colour for years. Worn hard, it softens at the rub points first. We'd rather you knew that from us than found out from a warranty exclusion.
About the founder
I started Salted Sol because I wanted gold I could wear into the sea at Scarborough and not think about again. Every piece here is one I'd wear myself, and most of them I do. Salted is the ocean and Sol is the sun, and that's the whole idea.
